SAMN04324894 Canditatus Tritonibacter horizontis O3.65 Tritonibacter horizontis The marine Alphaproteobacterium strain O3.65 was isolated from an enrichment culture of surface seawater contaminated with weathered oil (slicks) from the Deep Water Horizon (DWH) oil spill and belongs to the ubiquitous, diverse and ecological relevant Roseobacter clade within the Rhodobacteraceae. The strain is able to grow on several hydroxylated and substituted aromatic compounds. Strain O3.65 seems to be member of the microbial oil degradation network of the DWH oil spill and represents the new type species of a novel genus of the abundant Roseobacter group.
