The cells were Gram-positive, rod-shaped and non-spore-forming. 16S rDNA phylogenetic analysis indicated that the organism belongs to the genus Deinococcus. The DNA-DNA hybridization experiments clearly indicated that CC-FR2-10 represents a distinct species among the genus Deinococcus. The biochemical and chemotaxonomic properties demonstrate that strain CC-FR2-10 represents a novel species, for which the name Deinococcus ficus sp. nov. is proposed.</Paragraph> </Comment> </Description> <Owner> <Name url="http://www.nhri.org.tw/">National Health Research Institutes</Name> <Contacts> <Contact> <Name> <First>Keh-Ming</First> <Last>Wu</Last> </Name> </Contact> </Contacts> </Owner> <Models> <Model>Microbe, viral or environmental</Model> </Models> <Package display_name="Microbe; version 1.0">Microbe.1.0</Package> <Attributes> <Attribute attribute_name="strain" harmonized_name="strain" display_name="strain">CC-FR2-10</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="host" harmonized_name="host" display_name="host">Ficus religiosa L.</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="isolation_source" harmonized_name="isolation_source" display_name="isolation source">rhizosphere</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="collection_date" harmonized_name="collection_date" display_name="collection date">2005-03-09</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="geo_loc_name" harmonized_name="geo_loc_name" display_name="geographic location">Taiwan: Taichung</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="sample_type" harmonized_name="sample_type" display_name="sample type">cell culture</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="biomaterial_provider" harmonized_name="biomaterial_provider" display_name="biomaterial provider">Lab. of Soil Environmental Microbiology and Biochemistry</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="collected_by" harmonized_name="collected_by" display_name="collected by">Wei-An Lai</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="env_biome" harmonized_name="env_broad_scale" display_name="broad-scale environmental context">Soil</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="host_tissue_sampled" harmonized_name="host_tissue_sampled" display_name="host tissue sampled">rhizosphere</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="identified_by" harmonized_name="identified_by" display_name="identified by">Wei-Shuo Huang</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="lat_lon" harmonized_name="lat_lon" display_name="latitude and longitude">24.121298 N 120.675666 E</Attribute> <Attribute attribute_name="type-material">type strain of Deinococcus ficus</Attribute> </Attributes> <Links/> <Status status="live" when="2017-02-09T02:23:04.982"/> </BioSample> </BioSampleSet>
