The genus Pseudooceanicola belongs to the Roseobacter group and currently comprises eight species with validly published names, isolated from seawater or marine sediments. Pseudooceanicola spp. grow between 4 and 40 C and tolerate salt concentrations between 0.5 and 9 % w/v, allowing them to grow in a variety of different habitats. We sequenced the genome and characterized the physiological properties of a new isolate, strain Lw-13e, affiliated with the genus Pseudooceanicola, showing less than 97% similarity on 16S rRNA gene level to the described Pseudooceanicola species.
